Description

Worcester is the single most collected British porcelain manufacturer in the world. Produced since 1751, it is most notably renowned for several styles, which define marked periods in an illustrious career: the early blue and white porcelain, which imitated Chinese styles, and the cream-colored, highly gilded and painted ware of the early twentieth century. John Sandon, a world authority on European porcelain, takes you on a decorative journey through the many periods of this highly respected manufacturer, illustrating and describing the diverse range of styles and designs produced over the years. Learn how to date your own treasured Worcester porcelain and where to find the rarest and most beautiful collections around the world. A much-missed addition to Shire's already dedicated coverage of porcelain and ceramics.
