Description
Gordon Braun charms his readers with tales of adventure, adversity and heartache in this "cute, poignant, funny" coming of age memoir. Welcome to Shoreline, a town that isn't even a town. It's 1968-the year a thirteen-year-old paperboy discovers a talent that changes the trajectory of his life. It's the year "the world got smaller; danger suddenly less abstract."

What a delightful memoir! Skillfully written, it captures the time and place, bringing the reader along through a year in the life of a 13-year-old boy in the late 1960's. I think the book will appeal to a wide audience. There are quirky characters, laugh-out-loud humor, and heartwarming moments. Definitely a feel-good read. (The) book is a treasure! / KM
I loved this book! It's as heartwarming and appealing as A Christmas Story, but with Ralphie three years older, in the throes of adolescence. The inspiration of using newspaper headlines in a book about a paperboy to establish the story in time and place was brilliant. Smoothly written, it drew me into a real-life childhood through the mind of a 13-year-old boy. / EH
Gordon Braun is a very gifted storyteller. As I read this book, he expertly unlocked my old memories, and took me on a travel journey back in time to my own youth, reminiscent of 1960's music, culture and news. I love Gordon's dry sense of humor. I loved every page of this book. I laughed, I cried, and I didn't want the book to end. Anyone who grew up in the 60's will enjoy reading this book! / NA
Wonderfully written memoir of what it's like to be 13 in 1968. All the tv and headlines! The author has a great ability to take you back in time. Quite poignant. Can't recommend it any more highly! / JT
Wow I have to say I didn't expect to finish your book in tears. I will remember your line "Eternity is where hearts lie peaceful and calm". I love that. All the best to you and congratulations on this great accomplishment. / JF
